Technology and theatre collide for Techtopia: the Polka Theatre's family friendly festival.


Techtopia promises to deliver chills and thrills alike this May half-term. Explore the impact of technology on our everyday lives through a series of workshops and performances.


As always, the Wimbledon children's theatre is encouraging kids of all ages to get dramatic through a series of creative activities. With so many different events on offer, it's worth scanning the website to see which events most tickle your fancy. But for those looking for a handy guide, here are some of the highlights at Techtopia 2018:


iPet
24 – 25 May 2018 | Running time: 40 minutes
Recommended for ages 3+


iPet Techtopia, Polka Theatre


Two magicians grapple with the inevitable uprising of the machines live on stage. Their typical magic act starts off without a hitch, as they go about their business making balloon animals and pulling bananas out of iPads. Things go horribly wrong as a prankster iPad disrupts the entire show with its nefarious ways.

The World of Supersaurs

Recommended for ages 8 – 12

Technology and literature collide at this interactive workshop with Jay Jay Burridge, the creator of thrilling children's book series, Supersaurs. The author will take aspiring writers through the creative process behind his first two books, Raptors of Paradise and The Stegosorcerer. A must-book for anyone who loves Dinosaurs in the Wild.
