Artist Jivya Soma Mashe, known for his innovative style and for opening up the traditions of Warli to a new iconography is on display alongside his follower Ramesh Hengadi, who has developed his own distinctive style in response to the changes in both community life and global economies.
It seems Warli can transcend place and even language, as proven by an installation created through a pictorial exchange between pupils at Redlands Primary School, Tower Hamlets and a village school in Dahanu, Thane in which children managed to tell each other about their respective lives through the narrative language of Warli.
