Somerset House’s recently renovated New Wing Galleries is to be transformed into a series of interactive play areas for Now Play This: a weekend of games for kids.
The programme for the weekend comprises a wealth of talks and special events. Children will be able to play many never-before-seen video games as well as digital (Fluc and Line Wobbler) and paper games (Alleyback and Through the Eye of the Snake). Another highlight is the board game lounge – we’re sure the kids will be Scrabbl-ing to Boggle and Buckaroo!
Tickets are subject to capacity so you will need to book in advance; we reckon the free passes for under 12s are going to sell out pretty quickly. Please note that screening room events will be ticketed separately.
Suitable for ages 4+. Under 12s go free.

It took three years for One Aldwych Hotel to decide on the chef for their flagship restaurant, and they couldn't have made a better choice than in Eneko Axta. With a self-contained chunk of the building all to himself, Eneko's brought an incarnation of his Bilbao restaurant, Azurmed, to London.

  • Beaufort Bar at The Savoy

Nothing quite matches the glamour of The Savoy. One of the most famous hotels in London and located on the vibrant Strand, The Savoy is home to a range of luxurious restaurants and bars. Beaufort Bar is a particular favourite of ours, not only because of its trademark cocktails but because of its colourful history. The bar itself was once a cabaret stage used by the likes of George Gershwin and Carol Gibbons, and the menu, inspired by the many famous faces that have graced the halls of The Savoy, takes you on a journey back in time.
