After months of speculation, Eleven Madison Park, top of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list in 2017, whose food and service are regarded as the definitive benchmarl, have confirmed they will be opening their first European outpost in London’s Claridge's this summer.
The restaurant will be called Davies and Brook after the Mayfair streets surrounding it: a very NYC songbook affectation. Expect a true gourmet experience in smart, cool surroundings yet without the three Michelin starred kitchen's tasting menus. Instead Daniel Humm, Madison Park's chef and co-owner, is creating brand new dishes for London.
Regulars at Eleven Madison praise the food for being disarmingly simple, yet technically faultless and invariably sublimely delicious.
The famously meticulous attention to detail at EMP makes "Seven Days" the Netflix movie of their recent refurbishment compulsive viewing. The same interior designer Brad Cloepfil will be responsible for the London restaurant's design.
Madison Park's former chef de cuisine Dmitri Magi will lead the London restaurant which will be operated by Make it Nice who also oversee the more casual Nomad restaurant (much favoured by the world's current World's 50 best number one chef Massimo Bottura which operate in New York, LA and Las Vegas.
Eleven Madison Park co-owner Will Guidara enthuses: “We’re eager to become a part of the community in London, one that has felt like a second home to us over the years, and to deepen the relationships we have there while serving Daniel’s food and bringing our style of service."
“The history of Claridge’s and the responsibility that comes with opening a restaurant within those hallowed walls is not something we take lightly – it’s an opportunity we’re truly humbled by and we can’t wait to open our doors later this year. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
