Hotly anticipated West Thirty Six has just opened this month on Ladbroke Grove’s stylish Golborne Road: set to become one of the best new restaurants in West London.
A collaboration between Piers Walker of Mondrian London, club king Robert Newmark and Soho House chef John Pollard (who's also responsible for a number of other cool places to eat: London foodie gem Pizza East being a firm favourite) West Thirty Six is billed as 'a refuge for locals, a hub for creators and a home for food and cocktail enthusiasts alike'. The four-storey townhouse venue to combine posh dining in London with unpretentious, honest food.
The trio take inspiration from traditional grill-house menus, but the way they envisage classic dishes betrays a driving passion for quality food, including dry-ageing of all their own meats, and a special charcuterie board accompanied by an indulgent truffle mac ‘n’ cheese.
West Thirty Six are committed to a belief in buying the best in British produce – the kitchen serves up tender Herefordshire beef and hand-caught Scottish scallops cooked to perfection and the served in the cosiest of settings. W36 also pride themselves on cooking with natural fuels and charcoal, setting an admirable example to the rest of the industry.
Designed to be an 'all-day town house', guests can stop by for brunch, lunch or dinner and evening drinks – or perhaps even linger for all four. A mixture of restaurants, lounges and late night bars, London socialites have an all-purpose spot that doesn't compromise on individuality.
The property is large, and fitted with numerous rooms and terraces, each of which offer its own inviting and distinct ambience. Among the many posh restaurants in London, with a view over the metropolitan ends of Golborne Road, West Thirty Six retains an individual, unique quality that stands it well above the rest.
An outdoor space featuring an open grill and bar is destined to become a firm favourite in the warmer summer months to come. The numerous bars with a view in the building mean that exploring never ceases to amuse. There's also the 'toolshed' in the basement with an open wall and its own fire pit: it's decked out accordingly and displays the incredible attention to detail within its design.
The West Thirty Six team hopes to fast become an integral part of the fabric of the area, promising to provide space for creatives to exhibit their work and collaborate on events. Our eyes are peeled for any announcements of unmissable future events.
Set in the heart of the Notting Hill area, we expect West Thirty Six is already well on its way into becoming a much-loved hangout for West Londoners, adding another jewel in Golborne Road’s already glittering culinary crown.

This 'hygge' café in Notting Hill serves modern Danish food, as well as being a great destination for sourcing ingredients and homewares, so that you can bring Scandinavian style home with you. It's a perfect spot for lunch or a late afternoon pastry, in its chic blonde wood interior.
