The Langham’s ‘Art of the Aperitif’ Martini Bar

The Langham’s Palm Court in Portland Place hosts an event that is not to be missed by any cocktail fan. Their stylish new pop up bar celebrates the endurance of the Martini brand through a multitude of new cocktails and vintage Martini artwork.
Alex Kratena, winner of various awards including International Bartender of the Year, has also been the mastermind behind The Langham’s Artesian Bar. His inventive approach has been put to perfect use in this exclusive event.
Guests will be offered seven modern cocktails all served with accompanying tapas. A Martini Bianco mixed with Pine, Rasberry and Crodino will be served up with Chargrilled Prawns, Red Chilli and Butter; whilst a Martini Rosato, Bacardi Superior rum, Guava and Martini Bitter is served with Crab, Heeirloom Tomatoes and Avacado Ceviche. Those keen to peruse the display of Martini antiquities, including bottles and posters dating back to the 1890s, will be given a complimentary Martini Royale to keep them going whilst taking in the exhibition. The event is open Mondays to Saturdays although make sure to get there soon as it is set to close on 29th November.

    VENUE

Voted the “World’s Best Bar” for three years running, The Langham’s impossibly lovely Artesian bar serves flawless cocktails in elegant, vaguely Oriental surroundings. The bar doesn’t take bookings, so arrive early.

The Photographers’ Gallery was the UK’s first independent gallery devoted to photography, opening in 1971. It has played a central role in establishing the careers of several contemporary British photographers, including Martin Parr and Corinne Day. In 2009 The Gallery moved from its original home in Great Newport Street, to Soho, reopening to the public in 2012 following extensive redevelopment.

Left derelict for more than 50 years, this former Victorian toilet has since been converted into one of London's trendiest little coffee spots. The homemade grub is good, but the decor is glorious and perfectly suited for Instagram.
