An exciting new pop-up is opening this autumn in Notting Hill Gate, based around a fantastic idea. 'Have you ever wondered,' the press release asks, 'what you'd get if you moved five completely mismatched flatmates into one house, and threw parties every week?'. If you have, then The Little Yellow Door is about to give you an answer.
The five 'flatmates' will be hosting regular dinner and drinks parties amongst the eclectic décor of their cosy home, serving up themed cocktails (the My Name is Earl, featuring Earl Grey-infused gin, sounds enticing) out of all manner of receptacles (eggcups? Teapots?).
Fridays are given over to dinner at the hands of the acclaimed team behind The Wandering Chef, with roving, innovative menus aiming to create an imaginative dining experience both homely and avant-garde. Thursdays and Saturdays are all about house parties, with a mouth-watering selection of bar snacks accompanying the kooky cocktails at their apartment-inspired bar.
On top of it all, you can expect a treehouse-themed snug, a key and a personalised mug for regular visitors, and TLYD claim to be the first London eatery to take bookings via Whatsapp!

    WANDERING CHEF

The Wandering Chef comprises an intrepid duo: Lalie Jacout and Jamie Hazeel, who met in the Swiss mountains five years ago and have worked together ever since. Inspired by a love of travel and adventure, there’s little this couple won’t take on.

The pairing of cook (Jamie) and creative director, or ‘Mistress of Festivities’, (Lalie) gives The Wandering Chef an advantage over the pop-up competition: are their productions dinners or immersive shows?

    NEARBY: THE PRINT ROOM

You're close to The Print Room, a theatre opened in 2010, in a pocket-sized printing factory in Bayswater. In just four seasons, it has become one of London’s very best fringe venues. Artistic director Anda Winters has cultivated a winning mixture of avant-garde new performances, newly translated European masterworks and refreshing productions of classics.

This year the Print Room moved to The Coronet in Notting Hill, restoring the historic Victorian playhouse turned cinema to its original function as a theatre. Prompted by the landlord’s decision to convert the former printing workshop into luxury accommodation, this move signals exciting developments for the creative team at Print Room.

  • Mazi

Mazi serves an authentic, yet refined Greek menu a stone's throw from Notting Hill Gate. Don't expect to see pitta and humous -- which are Cypriot -- here! Instead order one of Mazi's particularly inventive cold jars, such as its delicious feta spread, which are accompanied by slivers of homemade bread.
