Every Sunday, Ritorno celebrates the Milanese tradition of aperitivo serving a selection of cocktails at just £7.50 from 4pm to 9pm, each accompanied by a complimentary platter of cicchetti which changes every week. Making it extra special and extra Italian, the second Sunday of the month the cocktails offered will all use VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, and there will be entertainment ranging from live music to DJ sets and magicians.

Expertly crafted in Italy, VII Hills Italian Dry Gin is a contemporary, premium juniper spirit blended with seven botanicals, inspired by the seven hills upon which, according to legend, Rome was built. Created by Italian-born mixologists Danilo Tersigni and Filippo Previero, distilled in Moncalieri near Turin and naturally flavoured using the finest Italian ingredients from artichoke to blood orange, VII Hills is 100% Italian.

The seven VII Hills cocktails created by Ritorno’s head barman Simone Francini include:

  • APIUM NOSTRUM – VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, Strega liqueur, celery juice, lemon juice, Florente elderflower liqueur and saffron syrup

  • FOG ON THE HILLS - VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, Barcelo rum & hazelnut, Figaro fig liqueur, orange juice and Floria Marsala Targa Riserva

  • THE ROMAN BASTARD – VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, Villa Zarry cherry brandy, Sambuca, lime juice and homemade wild fennel & ginger ale

  • CORPSE REVIVER #7 – VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, Galgliardo clementine triple sec, lemon juice and Mediterranean aperitif wine

Among the other cocktails will be Simone’s Ritorno Conte Negroni using VII Hills Italian Dry Gin, Campari and Cocchi Rosso vermouth. Also being served are four Classici di VII Hills – classic cocktails reinterpreted for modern times including the Italian Mary and espresso Martini-style Caffe Corretto.

Cicchetti, made by Ritorno's head chef Fillipo Salzano, change every week. Typically, they include creamy burrata, herby arancini, polpette, grilled octopus and fritto misto.
