The space race is over. Astronauts have walked on the moon; the next frontier is Mars. The five foremost members of the international space community are recruiting explorers for the first Martian colony. Russia, China, the USA and India have chosen, but Britain has yet to decide.
This is your chance, intrepid diner. Check into the Operation Red Rocket research lab at the British National Space Laboratory (an unassuming building near Haggerston), for rigorous scientific tests, retro-futuristic interior design, and five courses of gastronomical goodness inspired by the cuisine of each of the five spacefaring nations.
Stellar highlights from the menu include jambalaya with glazed octopus, and cumin pork ribs with tea eggs.
Join the new space race, and step into a vision of the past's imagined future.
Tickets £55, including a welcome drink.
