Sustainable luxury, dreamy design: meet Morpho + Luna, a modern company with age-old ambitions

In partnership with Morpho + Luna

Best luxury pyjamas for women: Morpho + Luna
It's official, staying in is the new going out. Not only is England returning to lockdown for November but Christmas party season is going to be an entirely different experience than the norm.

But instead of weeping for the soirées that could have been, we're choosing to embrace a simpler, slower and more thoughtful way of living: spending time with family, upping the cosy factor and practising some self-care, starting with a good night's sleep.

With nights drawing in and a chill wind blowing, there's nothing like a warm bath and slipping into something more comfortable to help set the stage for a solid night of slumber. Top of our wish-list is anything from Morpho + Luna, a luxe sleepwear brand which combines elegant design and a commitment to slow fashion to create something truly special that's designed to last.

Based in London but with Italian roots, Morpho + Luna is the work of founder Cécile Gavazzi who draws on a lineage of traders and producers of silk stretching back to the 18th century, sourcing the finest cottons, silks and cashmere and working with family-run factories in Como. Sustainability and ethics are high on the agenda with a commitment to craftsmanship and quality.

The Italian influence carries through to the aesthetic as well: signature styles include classic mannish pyjama suits, sumptuous robes and slip dresses. As well as feeling decadent and delicious against your skin, further luxury touches come from artisanal details: delicate trims, lace and embroidery all add something special. Limited-edition printed pieces are rich with painterly motifs that would look at home in a grand palazzo.

We might have to make do with our London homes for now, but at least we can lounge in style, plus you'll have the perfect theme for any virtual or in-person gatherings from here to New Year's Eve: pyjama party.

Morpho + Luna's Colette pyjamas are a decadent way to deal with the nights drawing in. Choose from classic champagne silk, £415, or printed blush silk, £480, and add a padded silk eye mask, £95, to ensure a peaceful night's slumber

If you're prone to overheating even in the dead of winter this short pyjama set, £390, woven from pure merino wool, will allow your body to breathe and regulate your temperature. When you do awake, reach for the matching robe, £345, to ward off early-morning chills

A full-length robe adds a dose of drama to any occasion, whether it's breakfast with the family or settling in on the sofa with the latest must-watch. Choose from elegant printed silk, £590, dramatic black wool flannel, £350, or classic wool, £410, and you'll never feel underdressed again
