Most kids events are located far away on the outskirts of London, so it's a real treat when something entertaining for children happens in the centre of the metropolis. This is the joy of the Southbank Centre, with its visually spectacular events, workshops, programmes and theatrical performances.

This winter, a mind-boggling dance performance introduces kids to a fantasy world where the weird and wonderful are every day, and monsters can be found behind every corner.

Bizarrely shaped, shimmering min-monsters come to life thanks to amazing, glittering costumes that invert the human form. Actors crawl out of a cardboard world, with arms and legs where you would never expect them to be, wobbling with monstrously mad movements.

Each performance is 35 minutes of fun, with each 11am performance followed by a 45-minute workshop. Expect movement, music, images and props, all used to create monsters. Spaces are limited to 20 tickets per workshop, so make sure you book now.

Suitable for ages 4-9. We recommend this event for younger children.
