A fresh look for Spring 2015: Heal’s keeps it simple with a new collection of white designs

Spring/Summer 2015 at Heal’s UK looks elegant as white stands out as the colour of choice. The clean and fresh finish of these new pieces is simple, but effective and makes for a fabulous pairing with a pop of eye-catching colour.
What features in the new Heal’s collection?
If you’re a fan of slick Danish design, make a bee-line for the exclusive Chill sofa. This modern take on Danish upholstery combines slick white semi aniline leather with black stained legs, along with some sumptuously comfortable goose feather stuffing.
Other white designs to admire are the new Mistral bed with signature back buttoning; the hand-crafted Orwell wing back chair made from beech and Heal’s fabrics; and the new white stained ash dining table and chair from Jesús Gasca. Little known about Gasca’s signature placement of detail on the back of his designs is the influence of his model mother who was a mannequin for legendary designer Cristóbal Balenciaga that similarly had his detailing on the back so as not to distract from the woman’s face.
Heal’s Creative Director, Carmel Allen, has been singing the praises of the crisp new collection, saying: ‘White is always a wonderful colour to work with – there’s a purity to it that everyone finds attractive. It’ the go-to colour for Spring.’
We’re convinced these elegant design essentials should be on your wish list of things to buy in London in 2015.

  • Ossobuco

In keeping with the classic associations of its name, this Fitzrovia restaurant has 'a strong focus on rustic Italian dishes inspired by traditional family recipes', albeit served in a stylish modern setting complete with cocktail bar.

  • Salt Yard

Salt Yard is a cosy dining room in London's Fitzrovia, serving Spanish and Italian tapas dishes with aplomb. The food is remarkable for its sustainability, and the staff's attention to detail, right down to knowing what kind of acorns the Ibérico pigs recently feasted on.

  • Roka, Fitzrovia

There are four Rokas around London – Mayfair, Aldwych, Canary Wharf, and Fitzrovia – and each one provides a dark urbane corner for some of the best (if most expensive) Japanese food in London.
