It might only be two years old, but fresh-faced contemporary garden fair Grow London has become the go-to event for the discerning London gardener. Set on Hampstead Heath, GROW is a remarkably stylish affair: it describes itself as 'urban', 'boutique' even.

Around a hundred exhibitors are handpicked this year which represent the best in contemporary gardening and outdoor living. The 2016 line-up is yet to be announced, but last year the marquee was designed by florist Shane Connolly, who decorated Westminster Abbey for Will & Kate's Royal wedding, and exhibitors included über-cool brands like Boskke and Barbed.

We plan on heading to the unusual and rare plants and flowers section, where some of the country’s leading nurseries will be on hand to advise about growing. It will also be an opportunity to view a carefully selected range of classic and contemporary garden furniture, as well as sculptures and inspiring garden features.

Over the course of the weekend the re's a full itinerary of gardening talks and a tremendous array of workshops for the serious green-fingered gardener and more light-hearted affairs for families on a lovely day out. Stop by the champagne bar for a chilled glass of bubbly - a lovely day out.
