Grand Designs Live returns to London's ExCeL Centre from 4 – 12 May this year, led by designer Kevin McCloud who presents the TV show. The KLC School of Design’s Jenny Gibbs and property-expert-turned-TV-presenter Kunle Barker are also on board as judges.

To celebrate the Grand Designs TV show turning 20 this year, the live show is introducing several exciting new initiatives, including the ‘Green Finger Campaign’, which runs in conjunction with the show’s charity partner, Friends of the Earth.
A Wildlife forest is being created to show visitors how and where to create wildlife-friendly environments in whatever outdoor space they have to work with. Eco-minded visitors will also find an all-new area of the show focused on the art of upcycling.
Another not-to-be-missed feature of this year's show is the The Under the Stairs Project. Here, eight interior designers use a commonly neglected area of the home – the space under the stairs – to showcase bespoke installations, providing visitors with inspiration for their own mini-grand designs. If you’re working on a DIY project, don’t forget to pay a trip to the self-build clinic (open on weekdays), which dispels common myths surrounding self-build practices and arms visitors with practical advice instead.
Meanwhile, Grand Designs Live continues to support their 2018 initiative to reduce the usage of single-use plastics at the show, banning plastic straws and bottles. Plastic cutlery and goody bags have also been replaced with biodegradable alternatives.
As well as offering a fun day out stacked with innovative ideas for the home, Grand Designs Live is a chance to compare prices, hear from brands directly and get access to products not yet available on the high street.
