If you're at a crossroads with your interior design choices, then get yourself to designjunction, the massive international show where design meets art and innovation. This vibrant event attracted 27,000 visitors last year making it one of the most popular events of London Design Festival and this September it's back for its ninth edition.

Taking place in King's Cross Design District, one of 10 official design districts in the festival, designjunction will showcase more than 200 international brands, over 70 pop-ups, immersive installations and a talks programme featuring some of the most influential voices in the industry.

King's Cross will become a dynamic hub for all things design with events and showrooms spread across five main areas: Cubitt House (lighting and furniture), the Light Tunnel (partnership projects), King’s Boulevard (brand activations and installations), the Canopy (retail) and Everyman Cinema (talks and debates). Read our full guide below on how to navigate this microcosm of creativity.

Cubitt House

Flex Chair by Verpan launched for the first time at designjunction

Cubitt House will once again become designjunction’s trade destination and home to furniture, lighting, and new product launches. Leading international names such as PAD Home, Icons of Denmark, VitrA, and LSA International will return to exhibit their latest creations.

Many brands will be looking back over design history for inspiration. Scandinavian design duo Friends and Founders pay homage to the centenary of the Bauhaus with the launch of their new Bauhaus-inspired FF chairs. Danish design studio Verpan will also release a collection of chairs inspired by the iconic designer Verner Panton.

The Light Tunnel

King's Cross's endlessly Instagrammed psychedelic walkway, The Light Tunnel, will host the third edition of the Rado Star Prize UK, a prize is designed to honour fledgling British designers. The prize's theme is year is 'Re:Imagine' and creatives have been asked to explore how design can improve everyday life through materials, technology and re-use. The Light Tunnel will house an exhibition of ten shortlisted projects as well as the prize's awards ceremony.

The Canopy

Those looking to shop designs from emerging labels should head to designjunction's retail destination, the Canopy, where over 70 pop-up shops will be selling everything from fashion accessories to technology, glassware and ceramics.

Everyman Cinema

Hear industry insiders speak about the future of design. Last year's events included panel discussions on how to create meaningful experiences through design, the future of architecture, ethical design, and even the rise of drones across different sectors. The 2019 programme will be announced soon – watch this space.
