Ben Uri Gallery exhibition
In those 100 years, the gallery has amassed a fascinating collection of works by mostly Jewish émigré artists. This centenary exhibition is a rare chance to see works by some of the most famous names in the stellar Ben Uri Gallery collection, including Jacob Epstein, Max Liebermann, Frank Auerbach, Marc Chagall. Out of Chaos tells the stories of the immigration and citizenship of the Jewish community, and also provides an interesting insight into the topical subject émigré experiences in London.
The works on show spend most of their time in storage, given that the gallery is currently based in a temporary space in St John’s Wood, so this is an excellent opportunity to see them in the flesh at Somerset House.
