The first American playwright to win an Evening Standard Award, a Pulitzer Prize nomination and a spot on Time Magazine's List of the Best Plays and Musicals of the Decade (for Boy Get Girl), Rebecca Gilman is a theatre tour-de-force, and the UK premiere of her latest work Luna Gale is hitting the Hampstead this June.

When social worker Caroline Cox meets troubled teenage couple Peter and Karlie she thinks that she's seen it all before. But the more she gets to know them, the more their situation starts to impact upon her life and work.

The central role of Caroline Cox will be played by Sharon Small. Best known for her television roles, includingLaw and Order and Mistresses, Small also has an impressive stage CV, most recently including Carmen Disruption at the Almeida and the RSC's Arden of Faversham. Alongside her in the role of Karlie is up-and-coming starlet Rachel Redford, fresh from her role as Alice in The Donmar's Closer.
