La Tate Britain présentera, cet automne, la plus grande collection jamais assemblée en Europe depuis quarante ans, de tableaux de la série « Londres, le Parlement » de Monet. Avec plus d’une centaine d’œuvres remarquables de Monet, Tissot et Pissaro, cette exposition est la première d’une telle envergure à documenter l’histoire de ces artistes français exilés dans les années 1870 et 1880 dans la capitale britannique.


The EY Exhibition: Impressionists in London, French Artists in Exile (1870-1904) dévoilera les réseaux artistiques développés en Grande-Bretagne par les impressionnistes français et révèlera l’influence esthétique qu’ont eu le tristement célèbre brouillard, l’architecture et les parcs londoniens sur leur peinture.


À travers une sélection de tableaux exposés pour la première fois provenant de collections particulières du monde entier et de peintures à l’huile magistrales représentant quelques-unes des vues et paysages urbains parmi les plus célèbres de la capitale britannique, The Impressionnists in London explore un chapitre oublié de l’histoire de l’impressionnisme.
