Culture Whisper's Christmas Countdown: Advent Adventures in London
One of the last trees to be switched on in London, but one of the most important. Head to Trafalgar Square for the special ceremony and lighting of a huge Norway Spruce. Carols around the Christmas tree are led by the choir of St Martin's in the Fields. The service is expected to be attended by thousands, and it's conducted by the Lord Mayor of Westminster. The Christmas tree has been donated by the city of Oslo every year since 1947- a gift from the Norwegian people in gratitude for British support during WWII.
