DIY party games for everyone
Let's get this party started with a few of our favourite family party games!
Don't switch on the television just yet – with more and more people opting to switch off and disconnect for the holidays, we suspect we'll all need some good old fashioned fun come Christmas day.
We all know Charades and Snap, but why not try some of these other great alternative party games? Some need cunning and wit, whilst others only require some pens and paper or just a single sock. Best of all, their all free (though some might cost you your dignity...)
Not a Monopoly meltdown in sight.
What is it: A gladiatorial contest between two of your family members over one of your old socks.
Best for: The more nimble members of the group.
You will need: One sock, and some carpeted space.
How to play:
1) Two 'wrestlers' squat in the middle of the room, holding either end of the same sock
2) They must try and pull the other wrestler over by pulling on the sock. No foul play or touching, please.
3) The first person to fall or place a hand on the floor loses.
4) Winner stays on.
How do I win? Keep a low centre of gravity. And don't go first.
Top tip: Don't use your best cashmere socks, and encourage the older family members to umpire.
