While as an 'Alumni of the Chamber', we're expected not to reveal what we saw or indeed where we saw it on our own visit, we can say with confidence that our experience was marvellous. On the day of our booking, we received a text message at 4:30pm with details of the secret location – it's always a short walk from one of the stations on The East London Overground (that is, the Ginger Line) somewhere between Highbury & Islington & Crystal Palace.
Diners are advised to arrive in plenty of time so that you can have a drink and a look around the outer chamber before being whisked off for the multi-dimensional dining adventure. Upon entering the waiting room, we sampled – and recommend that you do too – one of their delicious rhubarb cocktails while we awaited our departure into five otherworldly dining dimensions.
Our lips are, of course, firmly sealed as to what the Chambers of Flavour actually hold within their walls. But we can tell you to expect inventive, completely believable sets, paired with delicious, at times too-beautiful-to-eat food. Gingerline have gone to incredible lengths to improve the quality of their cuisine since their last venture – and it really shows.
You’ll be thrown into the sea, launched to the skies and taken back in time by a joyous troupe of in house actors. Immersive-phobes fret not, any awkwardness soon gives way to euphoria.
Please note that this experience is not suitable for people who do not like small spaces or have serious food allergies. Over 18s only. Terms and conditions apply.
